MUSICANS Olle Lindvall: Guitar, Wooden Flute of Härjedalen
I get just as exhilarated every time I hear a truly headstrong musician. In the case of Olle Lindvall all my senses become as clear as maple leaves on a beautiful autumn day. When he plays a polska it's like a gentle bear-hug right here and now, entirely accessible while expressive enough for a whole universe.
He probably sits on his musical throne of gold playing his guitar until even the crispbread on the kitchen table jumps for joy.
The personality of Olle with his tunes ? as if carved in stone yet light as a downy feather. They swirl around in my head and I wish I, like Eva Karlsson, had been dedicated a melody as beautiful as raindrops on hand-blown glass.
For me this whole album is one long poem filled with reflections. A soothing shimmer brimming with balm for the soul.
With this CD the guitar, in one fell swoop, becomes a solo Swedish folk music instrument in its own right and we have a well articulated, unobtrusive and graceful player ruling the roost.
I bow with respect.
