ERIK PEKKARI
Erik Pekkari is one of Sweden's most prominent exponents of the diatonic accordion. Born 1966 in Piteå, a small town not far away from the Arctic Circle, he was 7 years old when he started playing the accordion at the Framn?s College of Music. For several years now Erik has specialised in the diatonic accordion, and his style of playing has won acclaim, both in Sweden and abroad. Erik has been greatly inspired, both by music from old recordings, especially of the legendary Swedish accordionist Carl Jularbo (1893-1956), and by the new generation of young folkmusicians. In recent years Erik has lived in Linköping, in the south of Sweden, where he is very active on the folk scene. |
